Tall & Chain Cycling Bib Shorts

£65.00

SKU: N/A Categories: ,

Main Features

The legs and bib lengths provide cyclists over 6ft2 with an all round good fit. The leg design is close to the knee, in line with modern trends.

The waistline is higher than standard, which helps if you need to wear shorter length jerseys from another brand. Yet with increased bib lengths, its still easy for that emergency comfort break!

The hem bands have silicone gripper dots. They aren’t too tight which makes them more forgiving to a wider range of legs sizes, and the silicone provides sufficient grip to maintain the positioning of the shorts.

Coupling the long length geometry with Italian fabrics and no compromising on the pad, this is a really comfortable pair of bib shorts for the taller cyclist.

  • 4 layers including 3 open cell foams with a total thickness of 16mm.
    • The first layer is a fabric with an antibacterial treatment
    • The second layer is 75kg/m³ density and 4mm thickness for high elasticity, and softness in contact with the body.
    • The third layer of 120kg/m³ density and 4mm thickness acts as a support to the third layer.
    • The fourth layer of of 100kg/m³ density and 8mm thickness is hydrophobic, meaning it does not absorb moisture allowing excellent protection and comfort for long distances.
  • Thanks to the H.T.S. (humidity transition system), the passage of humidity from the inside to the outside is constant, transporting humidity away leaving a feeling of freshness.
  • Unlike traditional foams, by not getting soaked in sweat, it increases the resilience of the foam.
  • Suitable for 8hr+ rides.

Caring for your shorts

Please read our care page for washing instructions. There are some usage considerations, and these really apply to any brand of shorts or tights:

If you have a dog who gets excited when you return from even the shortest of rides, be careful with clawing on the delicate technical fabrics.

Avoid using a top tube bag with velcro, if the inside of your knee area can rub against it.

Underneath the saddle, look out for rubbing against large saddle bags and even seat brackets, which can be exposed if your seat is positioned well back.

Choosing the optimum size

Please refer to the size guide for more information on our sizing. This chart is pretty close to identifying your ideal size, but there are a few factors to consider when choosing the one best for you.

  • Which height? Its not easy to provide a definitive dimension to choose which height size you are, but the size chart is proving to be accurate so far. The Angliru sizes have longer bib lengths AND longer leg lengths. If you are close to being in between the sizes, consider if you have a longer torso or legs for your height – your torso length will affect the bib tension, which is the most important size consideration with bib shorts. If you are still stuck choosing then it will be safer to go with the Masca sizes as they still have good leg length.
  • Which width? If you have sprinters legs you might feel it could nudge you to the wider sizes. Measuring the around the wider part of the quads, if you are 24″ or more then the Sprinter sizes could be better.
  • For reference, the photos in the product gallery show the AC size bib shorts being worn by a rider who is 1.99m tall and 94kgs.
  • Note that if you sit outside of our size chart below, these bib shorts still might be more suitable than other brands. The forgiving fabric is proving to fit riders up to 10kg heavier than the sprinter width, which means the climber width could also accommodate perhaps 8kgs more weight if you are happy with more compression. At the shorter/leaner end of a size on the chart the tights will be a looser fit because of reduced tension in both directions.
